Team Ealing!

'The creative adult is the child who survived.'

This is our table at the award ceremony to show some of what we are doing in Ealing at the moment.

We have a wonderful planting and growing schedule for the Walled Garden project in local Walpole Park. Thanks to Laurie and volunteers for braving the elements on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Also outdoors are activities, such as pond cleaning and general tidying at the Barons Pond project.

With the help of Capel Manor Horticultural students we will be installing bat, bird and insect houses made by our resident carpenter , volunteer Vlad.

We also used the table to show how the food donations that we get from City Harvest and the Felix projects are used to feed our clients. Thanks to our chef, volunteer Gary. We provide a hot meal for clients on Monday evenings so we can sit at table chat. The donations usually include individual meals and fresh fruit and veg for clients to take away with them.

We even said thank you to the Oxfam bookshop in Chiswick who pass on plastic carrier bags to us to reuse for those clients taking food home with them. Saves having to pay for a new bag and recycles plastic to help the environment.

We also mentioned the self help groups who meet at Ealing to support clients as well as other activities including boxercise, table tennis and Yoga. We were delighted that our efforts won the award for “best table” at the ceremony.
