'Walking is good for solving problems - it's like the feet are little psychiatrists'

A sponsored walk was organised by one of our service users, who had used the service and is now a service user representative for CGL. The walk was a part of Alcohol Awareness Week, and the theme was the changes service users wanted to promote in their lives.

The walk started at the St Luke's treatment service and staff, as well as two service user family members, joined in to support us on the walk to Eastbrook Park. Our service user representative lead the walk and the money raised will go toward the Christmas party being held for all of the local service users on 21st December. There were many conversations on the walk, not only about people's individual recovery journeys, but also about how much their lives had changed since they had engaged with the services run by CGL and Build on Belief.

It was a great chance for everyone to get together and explore the park while getting to know each other, and helping to promote the benefits of recovery from substance use.
