Service Support Worker for the Build on Belief project in Ealing

Hi, my name is Foyez Jitu (He/Him), and I’m honored to have recently joined the BoB family as a Service Support Worker based in Ealing.
Having recovered from Class A drugs and alcohol abuse, I have been clean for 2 years. This journey has provided me with a profound understanding of the complexities and challenges involved in the recovery process. I was estranged from my family when I was a teenager due to my sexuality, which led me to take drugs and drink alcohol at a very young age. I was homeless and very lost in the world but luckily I found the light at the end of the tunnel and I am now looking forward to supporting others at BoB.

I also have personal insight into the unique struggles faced within the LGBTQ+ community. I am committed to fostering a supportive, empathetic, and non-judgmental environment where individuals can feel safe and encouraged to pursue healthier coping mechanisms. A small quote that got me through the hard times is: "I can't change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination." - By Jimmy Dean

I look forward to collaborating with my new colleagues and, most importantly, to supporting those who utilize the exceptional services we offer in Ealing and beyond.
