'We can't help everyone, but everyone can help someone.'

Let’s have a look behind the scenes. ๐ŸŽฅ

Sarah, one of our brilliant volunteers, filmed our team preparing hundreds of food parcels for our food bank in North Kensington.

Come rain or shine…๐ŸŒงโ˜€๏ธ

‚DELIVERY!!!‘ shouts Laurence, service manager for Acorn Hall, at 8:30am on Saturday. All the volunteers drop what they are doing and double down, rushing to receive the array of goods from our greatest supporter City Harvest London.

We all have our jobs, from unloading the truck to packing the parcels for our clients. Each delivery is unique in every way, but very fresh, good quality and nutritious food is a guarantee with City Harvest.

Through their generous support the operation at Acorn Hall has grown from serving 20 people over the weekend to over 100 on Saturday alone. We cannot service without them.

Not just that, but they have gone above and beyond and provide a customised service that meets our needs and requirements and greatly benefits our clients – some of whom live chaotic lives and don’t have enough money to buy food – especially on short notice. Basically, whenever we call, they come with a smile!

Whether it's Ben, Marvin, Lloyd or Mo, we are always happy when City Harvest arrives. We receive 3 deliveries from them on Saturdays so there is a lot of work for our hard-working volunteers to do and thankfully, most of the time, there is enough food to feed each person for half a week.

Each week is a surprise and we don't know what we’ll get, but they provide us with a balanced delivery, including fruit and vegetables , meat, ready meals, dry and tinned goods, breads and baked goods, dairy, and drinks, so everyone gets a bit of everything!

With the full support of City Harvest, we are also able to provide hot meals on Sundays, however, unfortunately this service has been temporarily suspended due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Clients are so grateful, happy, and look forward to coming, and for some of them it has become an intricate part of their life. The service we provide has really helped them, they appreciate it, they depend on us during crises, and they bring people they know who are struggling so they feel they are helping people too, said Liam Harte, lead manager for Acorn Hall.๐Ÿ’š
