What other help is available? 'Don't worry if plan A fails. There are twenty-five more letters in the alphabet.' Build on Belief runs peer-led support and befriending services, intended to help people in their recovery, but the simple truth is that sometimes we need more help than our peers can provide. ONE TO ONE SUPPORT We know that sometimes it can all be too much, especially at the weekends. Well don't worry, we are here to help. If you need a quiet half hour of one to one support, please speak to one of our service managers. They will make you a cup of tea and find a quiet space. We can't promise they will be able to solve all of your problems, but we can promise they will listen and do their best! WE CAN GET YOU STRUCTURED THERAPEUTIC HELP If you are really struggling with your substance use and find this is the case, don't worry! Each Build on Belief project has close links with the local treatment provider who can offer you a range of therapeutic help. There are two ways you can arrange for an assessment. On each Build on Belief project page, there is a link to the website of the local treatment provider. You can click on it, and give them a telephone call, where a member of their staff will arrange for you to undertake an assessment. Alternatively, you can ask to speak to your local Build on Belief service manager in confidence, and they will arrange for a referral to your local treatment provider. They will be able to explain what happens next, and discuss any concerns you may have. We understand that asking for help is not always easy, and our staff are there to make the process as easy as possible. ADVICE, INFORMATION AND SUPPORT The Build on Belief services are both designed and run to be as friendly and supportive as possible. We can give you plenty of help to minimise the harm that substance use can cause if you want it, along with a friendly ear and a bite to eat. The staff and volunteer teams also have a great deal of local knowledge regarding other services that may be of value to you. Feel free to ask the staff if you require any advice or information relating to your recovery or personal circumstances. While we can't promise that we will always be able to help, our power is limited after all, we can promise to try!
