This is the first step toward becoming better than you are.' h Northwick Park Hospital, Watford Road, Harrow, London HA1 3UJ Our mental health peer support workers Miles Watson and Mark O’Connor help individuals who have been admitted onto the acute mental health wards at Northwick Park Hospital. Miles and Mark provide support with a variety of social issues, such as housing, benefits and finances. The team also provides emotional support from their own background and mental health experiences, offering a friendly face for patients to have a chat. Other roles include working closely with the Westminster Drug Project for referrals and advice or escorting patients out of the ward for home visits, appointments or leave. What we offer Drop-In Service: South Harrow Christian Fellowship (SHCF), South Hill Avenue, Harrow, London, HA2 0NN Every Wednesday, Miles and Mark manage a drop in service based at South Harrow Christian Fellowship (SHCF) from 10:30 – 14:30. This is open to the patients on the acute wards and also individuals within the community struggling with mental health. They have now also joined up with our Social Prescribers based at Bentley House to bring in more service users and as a team are seeing rising numbers. The service is also supported by amazing volunteers who have become a significant part of the drop in. Each week a different activity is available such as arts and crafts, mindfulness, games or gardening. They also go on walks or play table tennis. You can be sure to be met by a warm welcome and friendly environment- so feel free to drop-in! WEDNESDAY Drop-in 10.30-2.30pm Art, mindfulness, games and other activities on offer, snacks will be provided. Wednesday Drop-in: The closest tube station to South Harrow Christian Fellowship (SHCF) drop in is South Harrow which is a 3 minute walk away.
