'If opportunity doesn't knock, build a door!'

Physical activity is important to building and sustaining recovery from our substance use problems, but at the beginning of the journey it often feels like a big ask! There are times when leaving the house and getting to your local service feels like an achievement, and you collapse gratefully into the nearest chair with a sense of accomplishment. We know this is true, because we've been there. Nevertheless, improving your fitness, even if only by inches, and the dopamine boost this gives you is important. So, how do you do it? Right now at Build on Belief, we think table tennis is the place to start!

Let's be honest, there isn't a great deal of running around and all you really need to do is get the ball over the net and bouncing off the table! It's a game that tends to involve a lot of 'ooohs and aaahhs' and a great deal of laughter. What is there not to like?

Build on Belief currently has table tennis clubs operating at three of our services: Ealing, Hillingdon and Kensington and Chelsea (weather permitting!). If anyone else starts playing, we might have to seriously give some consideration to an inter-charity league!

If you would like to join us at any of these games, please click on the appropriate link above, and as ever, if you are are little shy about coming along for the first time, please feel free to ring one of the service managers detailed in the link and have a chat. They are friendly and always happy to talk to someone new.
